Ross and I have officially been married for 400 days. Our last year has been a whirlwind but in the best way. Now that we have moved (mostly) and finished wedding planning, we have had more free time on our hands than we know what to do with. As a newlywed, this is great, but I can't imagine that I am the only new wife who felt the withdrawals of wedding planning. My new found energy has been thrown into this blog, continuing to travel the world and country with Ross, and exploring our backyard of New Jersey with Ross and friends.
In the last year we have traveled to...
- Cancun, Mexico on our honeymoon where we saw the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza,
- Istanbul, Turkey for a wedding where we visited the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia in Sultanahmet Square,
- Orlando, Florida for Ross' birthday, where we went to Disney World and the House of Blues for To Write Love on Her Arm's 10th Birthday,
- Crystal Springs Resort in Vernon, NJ where we got married to celebrate my birthday, and
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our 1 year anniversary where we swam with the dolphins.
- went to the Grand Harvest Wine Festival
- spent a weekend on Long Beach Island
- got soaked by the sideways rain at the Wings and Wine Festival at Cava Winery
- had the worlds fastest tailgate and saw Panic! at the Disco and Weezer in concert
- visited the Morris Museum to see Toothpick World
- threw parties at Halloween, for countless birthdays, Cinco de Mayo and through HouseParty.com for Borden Cheese & Dunkin Donuts
- ran the 4th Annual "Run For It" 5K...twice! to help raise awareness and break the stigma surrounding mental health
- broke out our wedding china for our first Christmas in our new home
- spent a frigid Valentines day together at home
- and when spring arrived, we landscaped and gardened!
Last year was a whirlwind of house and wedding. The last year has been a peaceful reminder of my relationship with Ross over the last 5 years. We have had the time, money and energy to "date" each other again and develop our new normal. Here's to many, many more!
We're still friends!
