Freezer-Friendly Pigs in a Blanket

Prep Time serves 12.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Cocktail Wieners
  • 1 tube Crescent Rolls

    Instructions

    1. Open crescent rolls, cut each of the 8 triangles into 3 triangles, making 24 total. See diagram below.

    2. Set the cocktail wiener along the short side of a triangle and roll. Set rolled pig in a blanket on ungreased baking sheet, seam side down.
    3. Repeat until all of the cocktail wieners are rolled.
    4. Place baking tray of pigs in the blanket in the freezer for 2 hours.
    5. Once frozen, remove pigs in the blanket from tray and place into a Ziploc bag or plastic container until ready to cook.
    6. When ready to serve, preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    7. Remove pigs in the blanket from freezer and place on baking sheets about 1 inch apart (seam side down).
    8. Bake for about 20 minutes until pastry is golden brown.
Pro Tip: Make a vegetarian version of these popular snacks using vegan "hot dogs" like these from Morningstar Farms and Lightlife. Simply cut the full size hot dogs down to the size of cocktail wieners before wrapping them in pastry!
